Rashes can look different from one person to another and may have several causes. Itching, redness, bumps or irritation alone do not establish a diagnosis.
What the video visit can help with
Tell us where the problem started, how it has spread and whether you have used a new medicine, skin product or detergent. Mention pain, fever and any other symptoms. Good light helps the clinician see what you are describing.
When an examination or testing may be needed
Not every skin condition can be identified from a camera image. The clinician may recommend an in-person examination or testing when the appearance or history leaves an important question unanswered.
Discussing treatment
Care may involve advice about products, symptom management or a prescription when appropriate. The aim is to explain the plan and when to follow up, not simply give every rash the same cream.
When to get care in person
A rapidly worsening rash with serious illness, blistering or peeling skin, or a rash with breathing difficulty needs urgent assessment. Call 911 for trouble breathing or a severe allergic reaction.
Before your visit
Use a well-lit space and avoid filters that change the skin’s appearance. Keep the names of products or medicines you have used nearby. Any clinical photos belong in the care platform, not public website forms.
