What the video visit can help with
Tell us when the discomfort started, whether this has happened before and whether you have fever, back pain or other new symptoms. Mention pregnancy, medication allergies and recent antibiotics. Those details help the clinician decide what can be addressed by video and what needs an examination.
When an examination or testing may be needed
A urine test may be needed to confirm the cause or choose treatment. A video visit does not remove that possibility. You can ask what the test would clarify and where to arrange it before deciding on the next step.
Discussing treatment
When the clinician determines medication is appropriate, a prescription can be sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose. The visit also gives you a chance to ask about symptom relief, follow-up and what to do if you are not improving.
When to get care in person
Fever or chills with pain in your back or side, vomiting or feeling very unwell can suggest a more serious infection. Seek prompt in-person care rather than waiting for routine online treatment.
