What to tell us about your symptoms
Asthma can cause wheezing, coughing, chest tightness and shortness of breath. Symptoms that are worsening or no longer responding to your usual plan should not be treated as a routine refill question.
What the video visit can help with
Explain how often symptoms occur, whether they wake you and which inhalers you use. Mention changes in activity, recent illness and any existing action plan. Describe your current breathing clearly at the start of the visit.
When an examination or testing may be needed
Diagnosing asthma and assessing some changes may require lung-function testing or an examination. Video care can support a discussion but does not replace those tests.
Discussing treatment
Bring your established treatment plan so the clinician can review medication questions and the need for ongoing care. Prescription decisions depend on the assessment and available records.
When to get care in person
A severe asthma attack, worsening breathing or symptoms not responding to your prescribed quick-relief plan needs immediate medical help. Call 911 for severe breathing difficulty rather than waiting for a video appointment.

Have your inhalers nearby and note their names. Keep any recent readings or records available if you already have them; do not delay urgent care to gather information.
